Not Enough Hours In The Day

Rebecca is coming along nicely.  We haven't had any major disagreements lately so I'm hopeful that all is well on that front.  It seems like it's taking me forever to make progress, but I guess I'm not in a big hurry.  I'm just impatient.  Other knitalong members are finishing their sweaters and I want mine finished too.  Oh well, all in good time.

I finished my first pair of socks on the way to Phoenix.  They turned out nicely, but I'm not sure I'm crazy about the toe.  I think I want to try a different version on the next pair.  These are on their way to Stacy and should be in her hot little hands today - assuming she remembers to go to the mail box.  She promised to take a picture of them on her feet and e-mail it to me.  I'll pass that along as soon as I see it.  This is the yarn I bought in Phoenix for my next sock project.  It's Lorna's Lace and pretty I think.  Should be a fun project, but when oh when will I find the time to get everything finished?  Just not enough knitting hours in the day!

After Rebecca I plan to start the Phildar zip cardigan.  I'm hopeful that the yarn I got will work, but it may not and then I'll have to find something else.  I need to get the magazine first, I e-mailed Knit 'n Tyme yesterday and asked what the expected shipping time was so I know when to expect it.  Dang it, I wish it'd hurry up.  I want to see it.  There's that impatience again.  :)  Anyway, here's the Jo Sharp I purchased.  What do you think? It's kind of a raspberry color - a blue red I would say.

I'm still struggling with the kitchen paint color.  Now I'm thinking that the Celery and Celadon may not be right for the rustic look I'm trying to create and have gone back to the drawing board.  Hopefully some of my HGTV pals will be able to help me today so I can order the paint and pick it up on Friday.  Nothin' like doing things at the last minute!

We Have Socks

I started my first pair of socks Saturday and I'm having a great time.  I'm working on the heel flap right now. This picture was taken last night before I actually started the heel flap part - just after I combined the 2 needles worth of stitches.  The pattern is Koigu fun socks and so far they've been pretty easy.  I love the color and the merino is yummy.  I knit them to the gauge on the pattern, but they might end up being too big for my skinny little chicken legs.  If they are, my sister will be delighted.  I'll just have to see when I get done.  Even if they are too big, I have to say that so far this has been a delightful project.  I'm going to try to pick up some more sock yarn when I'm in Phoenix.  I'm also thinking of a pattern from Rowan for after the Rebecca Knitalong Cardi.  Then of course there are the slippers from Weekend Knitting.  Just not enough time and too many projects.  I'm figuring that I'll get caught up on some stuff over the summer because I won't be making as many things to wear.  Right?

Calligraphy took up a large chunk of my day yesterday.  Those little seating card envelopes sure take a lot longer than you'd think.  But, the good news is that they're done and hopefully there won't be any stragglers. I'm quite pleased with them for the most part.  They aren't perfect, but all in all I think they look pretty good.  Now, all I have to worry about is my dress, shoes, and make-up getting here as scheduled and getting everything together that I need to take to Phoenix.  I'd better start myself a list or I'll forget something.

I bought my secret pal a couple of goodies yesterday - yummy little bits of funness. :)  I still need to get one or two more little things and then I have to get it in the mail to her.  I hope she likes what I found.  Have a great Monday.
