Tried and True - Updated
The Curiously Clever Clog and I had a little heart to heart and we decided that the pattern shouldn't be as hard as it is. I ripped out what I had and bought the updated Fiber Trends clog pattern. I started the new clogs at about 6 o'clock Saturday night and finished the second one this morning. I love felting!
The construction of these is soooo much simpler than the Stitch Diva pattern. It's basically a sole and a top constructed with short rows. Then you go back and knit a second sole and bind the two soles off together to attach them. There's a seam down the center of each sole and that's it!
The reason I went with the Stitch Diva pattern to start with is that I have narrow feet and I have a hard time with things like clogs. The Stitch Diva pattern looked narrower with a more streamlined fit. However, Fiber Trends has revised their clog pattern. It's "updated with a narrower fit while still including information on adding width if needed." And it is perfect!
The felted fabric is very firm and I felted the clogs enough so that they are narrow enough for my skinny feet. I ordered the Fiber Trends two-piece slipper bottoms in charcoal. I hope they work on the bottom of the slippers to provide a little non-skid action without ruining the overall look of the clog. I'll let you know how they work as soon as I get them.

My clogs wore out too quickly. I'll like the bottoms for that reason alone. Love your color choice and you did a nice job of felting, too.

Great clogs!!
I made a pair of these several years ago (they're on my feet as we speak) and my only complaint is that they are a bit wide. I was thinking about making another pair, but I'd like to use the updated pattern. May I ask where you purchased yours? I've tried locating it on-line, but they all look exactly like the pattern I already have. Mine is also labeled AC-33x.

Lovely! And you've reminded me that my knitted slippers have holes in the bottoms (I am planning to reknit the soles and THIS time attach some slipper bottoms).

I've been thinking about knitting a pair for myself, and yours look... just perfect. What yarn did you use again? It felted very nicely.

The clogs look fantastic, great colors! I had some problems deciphering the CCC pattern too and the Fiber Trends one seems perfect!

oh yes, let us know how the non-slip things work out. i've always wanted to make these clogs but we have all hardwood floors and i can just imagine myself flying to the ground :) i tend to drag my feet at home to keep quiet.

They look great, I didn't know they had a revised pattern. Great just something more I'll have to acquire. Although I've used their current pattern numerous times this year and absolutely love it.

I saw a really clever way to 'paint' a non-skid on the slippers on Craftzine-use silicone in the tube-I am going to try it on my next pair cuz I have a hole in my 3yr old ones........

Wow, you almost have me talked into making another pair... I just finally finished the first ones from the old pattern a month or so ago and they are good for indoor shoes in our infant-toddler classrooms, but too wide. Love the colors.I sewed the full slipper soles on the bottoms of mine and am pretty happy about it, as the floors often get wet where I work:)

I know everyone says this is easy but I DO NOT understand how to do the sewing together of the two soles. Can anyone help me??? The outer sole sticks out beyond the shoe, and even after sewing them together in the middle, it sticks out looking funny. I must not be reading the instructions right.
