It's Important to Read
I made a lot of progress on the first Rogue sleeve yesterday. I finished the chart and the increases and then I counted. I was supposed to have 55 stitches and I had something ridiculous like 35! What the hell? I clearly did not read the directions properly for the increase row and I only did one increase on each end rather one on each end and one next to the marker on each end. Crap. So, I had to rip out to the turning row and start the sleeve all over again.
I'm so pissed at myself, but that's what happens when you don't carefully read the pattern. Lesson learned - again.
I got some new patterns in the mail yesterday - from Hot Patterns (my current favorite pattern company). I ordered a different pants pattern - one with a contoured waist and hopefully a better fit for my body type - and also a new dress pattern.
This pattern has gotten a lot of great reviews and I've seen some gorgeous versions. So, I'm inspired. I'm washing my fabric and then I think I'll try to cut. Keep your fingers crossed for me - my last attempt at a dress didn't work out so well.

That really sucks about the sleeve, been there, done that...probably will do it again.

Hah, I did the same thing for the sleeve,
ripped, knit both sleeves, decided it sucked cause my knit and purl gauges are too different, ripped and are now reknitting the sleeves in the round. Still love knitting Rogue though. And thanks for the hood grafting link!

Hah! I had to rip out the Weekend Jacket (neckdown, so that means everything) twice. Didn't read.
I'll have to look up those patterns...underwhelmed by the usual suspects! Still haven't been able to set up the new Bernina. Maybe this weekend.

I did the same thing on a sleeve this week, but I was only off by a few sts, so I decided to keep going and just make the other one match. eh.

Well that just plain old sucks! I hate it when that happens & sadly it's happened to me more than once!
Good luck with the dress! I'm sure it will turn out fabulous!
Between you & Ange & all your awesome sewing I am going to need to pull out some of my fabric & see what I can whip up!

Whilst I am very sad for you, I have to admit that I am glad to see that I am not the only one. I do that kind of thing all the time and it's almost good to know that I am not alone in going 'duh!' every now and again. Here's to it being perfect the second time. x
