White Christmas

We are indeed going to have a white Christmas. And since so many of you aren't going to have one, I thought I'd share mine.

Riley thinks the snow is pretty fabulous - he likes to plow through it and bury his head in the drifts. Weird dog.

Short legged dog included for scale. That's after shoveling the snow off of the patio last night and this morning.

I'm home from work today, so I should theoretically get some knitting done. Who knows, I might even remember to take a picture or two for tomorrow.

No white Christmas here - thanks for the photos!

Posted by: Carole at December 21, 2006 11:16 AM

gorgeous pictures! i don't think i've ever had a white christmas! you live in such a pretty place.

Posted by: blossom at December 21, 2006 11:19 AM

I was worried that Riley had long legs...not that it isn't more than enough snow already. Stay warm, enjoy your knitting time and have a wonderful Holiday weekend!

Posted by: margene at December 21, 2006 11:23 AM

Lucky you! Stay warm.

Posted by: Sundara at December 21, 2006 11:27 AM

beautiful! i'm absolutely jealous.

Posted by: j a r e d at December 21, 2006 11:32 AM

Wow! just what you wished for in the last post - now will it clear up before you travel? Wishing you and yours a peaceful, joyful holiday.

Posted by: debbie lewis at December 21, 2006 11:33 AM

It looks wonderful!!! My dog Otis does the same thing! I have a picture of him somewhere (a paper one!) with the front half of his body in a snowbank....I think he likes looking for hibernating creatures....

I hope you have a wonderful, quiet, relaxing holiday!!!!

Posted by: Stacey at December 21, 2006 11:42 AM

MErry Christmas! Stay warm and drive safe.

Posted by: Zarah at December 21, 2006 11:44 AM

can i come over!?

Posted by: yahaira at December 21, 2006 11:56 AM

wow, it's beautiful! i'm the type of person that likes snow for only two or three days a year but hate the aftermath. NYC is really quite peaceful on the first snow of the year but once the plows come through and it becomes all slushy it's disgusting. them's the breaks, i guess.

Posted by: gleek at December 21, 2006 12:02 PM

Oh wow!!! Talk about a lot of snow! I don't want my own white Christmas, but I really like looking at yours. Have a wonderful holiday!

Posted by: caitlyn at December 21, 2006 12:03 PM

Thank you for sharing your snow. I may be one of the few people I know who still loves it. I don't even mind driving in it. The weather people here are still laughing at the idea of snow arriving here anytime soon. Oh well!

Posted by: hillary at December 21, 2006 12:16 PM

I'm so jealous! I hate Michigan weather.

Posted by: Elizabeth at December 21, 2006 12:24 PM

Awww... I love Riley! I wish we could have snow.. not that much, but I wish we got it! =)

Posted by: Angela at December 21, 2006 12:37 PM

awesome! I am wishing for a white christmas.. but it just doesn't seem to be in the cards this year :-)

Posted by: Diana at December 21, 2006 12:44 PM

I'm so jealous! I would love to have a white Christmas...

Posted by: grumperina at December 21, 2006 1:08 PM

Thank you for sharing the snow. I am so wishing Michigan will get dumped on so we will have a white Christmas. It just wont be the same with it.

Merry Christmas

Heather

Lovely! We just had a snow storm too, isn't it nice? I love getting to leave work early and curling up on the couch with some coffee, a blanket and the knitting. Ah, lazy winter days. :)

Posted by: Adam at December 21, 2006 2:02 PM

Thanks for sharing! I especially like the second picture.

Posted by: naomi at December 21, 2006 2:02 PM

your wish came true! i am so happy for you, sitting inside knitting and preparing for christmas while observing that snowy scene! i am also so jealous since it is going to be a mid fifties kinda holiday on the east coast!
ps- my dog also loves loves loves the snow! he is a fearless little jack russell and loves to just run and run and run in it!

Posted by: kaetlyn at December 21, 2006 2:10 PM

Sigh...it looks so lovely.

Posted by: Michelle at December 21, 2006 2:31 PM

Where is your snowman?

Posted by: Stephanie at December 21, 2006 3:40 PM

Lucky you! Looks so fresh and new-gorgeous pictures!

Posted by: brooke at December 21, 2006 5:30 PM

Jealous! I'm only spending one winter in Rhode Island before moving back to the south... I was hoping that would get me a white Christmas for once, but no dice I guess.

My Riley's not a big fan of snow. Too cold on his "wee wee"! Your Riley is a cutie pie, very photogenic.

Posted by: Cara at December 21, 2006 7:54 PM

Thank you for the snow pictures. I'm in CT and we haven't had any yet this year.

Posted by: Diane at December 21, 2006 9:29 PM

Thanks for sharing - that's definitely as white as my Christmas is getting!

Posted by: Theresa at December 21, 2006 11:23 PM

You suck! Not really I am just super jealous!! Man I want snow sooo bad. That does my husband and I's discussions about moving West, they have to happen!! The darn Midwest is turning into Florida!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and happy knitting!
Thanks for the snow photos!

Like Bono's infamous line "tonight thank God it's them, instead of you" I am eternally grateful the west is taking the brunt of the early winter storms ;)

I hope this means you get some much needed R&R(!), and in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy our crazy unseasonable 50 degree weather. :)

Posted by: Jackie at December 22, 2006 6:21 AM

We're just going to have a rainy Christmas. Someday we'll get winter here and then I can wear all my nice warm wool sweaters!

Posted by: Cindy at December 22, 2006 7:28 AM

*sob* It's downright UNwintery here. They're predicting rain today and/or tomorrow. Bleh.

Beautiful photos, and Riley really fooled me. :)

Posted by: Norma at December 22, 2006 9:18 AM

Pretty. And at least it snowed somewhere.

Posted by: Mia at December 22, 2006 2:43 PM

It's so pretty. Thank you!

Posted by: nat at December 22, 2006 8:56 PM

how totally beautiful - I love the photo with your horse - it looks like it could be in a magazine somewhere.. is Riley a corgi ?? He is so adorable!
thanks so much for sharing - we can only dream about snow as the rain and the wind keep on comin' down. It is wonderful to see it everywhere else.
Merry Christmas, and I hope that you get to relax this weekend.

Posted by: Teyani at December 23, 2006 8:27 AM

Enjoy the snow. I'm jealous in Vermont!

Posted by: jessie at December 24, 2006 5:19 AM
