A Small Step

The Christmas spirit is slowly showing itself at my house. This weekend the tree showed up.

It took me all weekend and a mild break-down to get it decorated, but as always, it was worth it.

I just love a Christmas tree. There's just something about it that makes the holidays seem real. My house isn't getting the same level of decoration it usually gets, but I have the tree, my beautiful nativity scene, and my Christmas village and I'm pretty good with that. I sent my Christmas letters and packages and have all of my gifts wrapped but one (it's a big box and I need more paper). So, all in all I'm feeling pretty good. Knitting has stalled except for a scarf I'm working on for a friend's daughter for Christmas (and I need to hurry up on that), but the Norwegian baby sweater is coming with me on Christmas vacation, so I hope for progress on that while I'm gone. The weather people are predicting lots and lots of snow and blizzard conditions for Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska today and tomorrow, but so far we haven't seen anything. I'd love it if it would snow enough so I could go home early today and stay home tomorrow, but then of course I want the roads clear by Saturday for everyone travelling for Christmas. I know they say you can't have it all, but if you can it would seem this would be the time of year for it.

Wyo. is so treacherous this time of year if it snows. Hopefully the storm will come in, snow enough to send you home and then be sunny and beautiful for Christmas travel.
Your tree is beautiful! May you have a wonderful, relaxing Holiday!

Such a pretty tree!!! Safe travels - maybe some of that snow will eventually find it's way to New England!

A lovely tree--properly crammed with ornaments. It makes anyone feel good just to look at it. My major decorating effort this year is my creche with knitting needle beams of light (there's are photos on flickr: flickr.com/photos/judithio
(I'm not smart/efficient enough to have a blog)

please please let everyone be safe travelling out there and everywhere for the holidays. Please three times, let all the snow/ice be off the roads on the 23rd when my daughter drives from NW Wyoming down to Denver.

I second the notion that you should send some of that snow back east....it finally cooled down, but my IRIS are sprouting it's been so warm here! (Good weather for last minute putting up of outdoor lights, though!) Safe travel and have a lovely Christmas!

Lovely tree! We got ours up on Monday, and it FINALLY tipped me over into feeling the holiday spirit.

We need snow out East ... I'm envious of yours on the way.

Your tree looks lovely! Though I'm sorry to hear that the stress of decorating it gave you a mild breakdown.

Very nice tree! I wouldn't mind some snow for Christmas, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen...
