Aprons & Swatches
I've been at the bar convention for the last couple of days and my home computer is tempermental to say the least. I had a funny and charming post all ready to go this morning (ok, I'm making the funny and charming part up) and then my computer had a system error and shut itself off. And there went my post. Lovely. Just lovely.
So, anyway, here's the supercute apron Angela made for me for our apron swap.

The fabric is white with little red cherries - I just love it. It goes great in my green and red kitchen (and no - it doesn't look like Christmas in there!). If you want to see the apron I made, go check out Cyndi's blog. She has a full picture of it.
In knitting news, I've been swatching. And swatching. And swatching.

I was having a bit of trouble getting gauge for the Sundara sweater, and at this point the addi #4's are the best. Let's see - that would be the smallest swatch - the others are the addi #5, the holz & stein #4, and the addi #3. I've been knitting and soaking the swatches and that has made a slight difference in my gauge. I thought the numbers were off on that swatch as well, but when I checked again this morning after it had dried, it actually appears to be right. Go figure. So, I cast-on while listening to a lecture on the art of legal reasoning. Riveting, let me tell you. After I get more than an inch done, I'll show you a little bit of how she's looking. Tomorrow is more lectures and an eye doctor appointment. If I get a chance and get anything done, you'll be the first to know about it.

Your apron is so cute! I'm dying to hear what Travis had to say about it though. I can only imagine...
Enjoy your lectures... ha! At least it gives you a chance to knit.
And this is totally random, but how do you keep your lawn looking so good? It is so green and even - it looks like a golf course!

You look adorable in your apron! I think you need to bake a cherry pie in honor of that fabric.

The aprons are so cute,is the pattern number available, or is it your original design? I would like to make some like Cindy is wearing. Thank you, Rita

The apron looks vintage! What a cute style and fun exchange. Bloggers are so creative.
The Sundra yarn is such a great color. Can't wait to see the sweater. Hope your weekend is less hectic and you can find time to relax and just do what you want.

I also have a red and green kitchen, and it looks nothing like christmas. It's all about balancing the shades of red and the shades of green.

You look like you are ready to get in the kitchen and whip up some yummy baked goodies and I know Travis will love that. When I first read your post I neglected to see "convention" and thought "Huh, Stephanie's been at the bar for the past couple of days"! I reread it! I know you would invite me if you were going to do that! I don't need to be invited to a bar convention though. Yarn is lovely!

I WAS JUST SEARCHING GOOGLE FOR HOLZ & STEIN KNITTING NEEDLES AND IT BROUGHT UP AN ARCHIVED ENTRY WHERE YOU MENTION THAT YOU ORDERED A REPLACEMENT FOR YOUR BROKEN NEEDLES. I BELIEVE YOU SAID IT WAS IN GERMANY. WOULD YOU MIND SHARING THE SOURCE? I'VE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER TO FIND SOME! THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE. MARY
