Plugging Along
I briefly considered titling this post P-ing Along, but was concerned about the message that would send. But, the fact of the matter is, I'm plugging along on my second Pomatomus. I'm about half way through the leg (1 1/2 repeats of the required 3) and I still like the pattern. It's a fun knit that has just enough going on to keep me interested, but not so much that I can't do anything else while I knit. It's a nice combination.

Although last night I was a little distracted. When I got home from work I had a package from Amazon waiting for me. And inside was every knitter's dream - two knitting books! Mason-Dixon Knitting and Knitting Rules. Heaven in a box (I did check my LYS for the books before I ordered them, but they didn't have either). I had hoped my copy of Wendy Knits would be included, but it wasn't. Maybe next week. So, last night I'm trying to read both books at the same time and I only had about 30 minutes before I had to go to karate. It was kind of painful. I couldn't decide which one to read first - they're both great. I don't think I can knit the p-sock and read at the same time, so I'm just going to have to knit faster so I can get it done and spend some serious time with these books.
And look what came in the mail

My Project Spectrum February/March postcard from Gracie. Isn't it the cutest thing? I just love the colors and the little sparkly words. So creative. I sent mine to her about a month ago, but haven't heard anything. I hope it made it safely (and I forgot to take a picture before I sent it off - sorry).

Oh I just love new books, I want to check out the Mason one when my LYS gets it, as I'm not 100% sure, it's a must have yet. But from everyone's reaction to it, it must be pretty good.

What a cute postcard! Looking forward to hearing about the books - I've heard good things about the Mason-Dixon and of course, the Harlot is always entertaining.

That post card was a lot of work! Nice. I forgot to take a picture of mine, too. It arrived by was never posted:-(
The sock looks fabulous! I took MDK to bed with me every night for a week. It's great reading and Steph's book has some great tips.

That looks suspiciously like a legal treatise (or similar) hiding behind your sock... are you knitting and working at the same time?!?
I picked up Knitting Rules at the LYS last Saturday, hoping to find some time to read it soon. I looked at the M-D book too, but it just didn't scream "buy me". Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the books.

beautiful pomatomus sock!! I love the colors! You should join us at the Pomatomus KAL over at http://www.polarsun.net/twistedthistle/ ... I love the pattern too, but unfortunately I thought I could get away with knitting it on 1's (I'm a pretty tight knitter too) and of course now I'm ripping it all out and starting over on 2's. Ohh well, knit and learn :o)

I ordered those 3 books from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and I am still waiting for them. I'm liking those socks. As I knit the same pattern on the 4th pair of socks, I may need to venture out a little and try a new pattern. Hey it looks like you have some FUN reading going on under your sock #2.

Pies, sewing, knitting, presents in the mail. sigh. What more could a girl ask for?

That's a very cool card you got from your PS card pal. I love that sock pattern and the yarn. I'm sorry I didn't get back to your email. Things have been hectic here. But if possible I would like to meetup with you. I'll send an email to the address referenced on your blog.
