What Day Is It?

I've been so busy I don't know which end's up. Work has been nuts (and I was naive enough to think this week might be a bit slower), I'm trying to buy a new car (and can I just go off on a tangent and tell you what a pain in the ass that is), and I don't even know what's happened to my evenings. But, I do have progress to show! On Butterfly.

See? Isn't it pretty? My tension isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than when I started on the mittens. Don't you think (and just so you know, that check pattern is one row knit, one row purl - my knit tension isn't that bad)?

Tonight I'm actually go to try some spinning (rather than just treadling)! Travis is going to rope so I'll have the tv all to myself to watch my spinning dvd. Fun times around here. I need to finish my skirt for Sew? I Knit (there's a second one) and do something about my post card for Project Spectrum. Oh, and clean out the truck and get it ready for a trade-in. How many days do I have anyway? 5? 7? I might just have to take a day off next week to get this car thing done. Wouldn't that be terrible?

Thank you all for the wonderful names for the spinning wheel. I'm having a hard time deciding (and haven't had more than a minute or two to think about it). I'll let you know on Monday. Have a great weekend.

Your tension looks good!

And good luck with the car thing. There's almost nothing I hate more than car shopping.

Oooh - what kind of car? Did you decide to get a TSX? Good luck with the car buying process - it is such a pain to deal with car dealers.

Your progress on Butterfly looks really nice. I love the colors, and can't wait to see how it progresses.

Butterfly looks beautiful! You have a bunch on your plate. Enjoy the weekend the spinning time, too.

Good job on Butterfly..........I think a day off is definitely in order.........

I should probably be ashamed to admit that I leave the car buying to my husband. It's too much of a pain in the ass, just like you said. Your tension on Butterfly looks great. It'll probably even out more as you continue knitting.

Butterfly looks great, I love the checked border, in fact, love it so much I think I might use that for the border on my sweater I'll be starting at some point with my homespun.

Isn't the tension thing easier on a bigger project, well at least I thought it was. The dpns, are somewhat difficult with two color, well more difficult then circulars.

We're going to have to do the car thing int he next year, I don't look forward to it at all. Although my husband wants to consider another jeep of somesort, at least that would be good.

Love the butterfly!

The Butterfly is gorgeous. The more I look at it, the more I want it.

Butterfly looks *so* great already!
Have fun with spinning this weekend!

I bought one car on my own since I've been married. It took me almost a year to decide which one, then I made the deal on a Mazda MX-3 all by myself. Without driving it. But, it was one of the best vehicles I've ever had and it lasted me ten years. My husband sends car salesmen to the hospital. Embarrassing. Good luck...with car and with spinning!

Stephanie, I hear you... life is getting the best of me right now, too. I need to UNWIND, I think you know something about that :). Butterfly is looking great, cheering me up!

Butterfly is so pretty! I love seeing all of those bits of color.

Butterfly looks really great. The colors are amazing.
Good luck on your car purchase. Hopefully it'll soon be over and you'll be enjoying.
Your mention of Travis going out to rope reminded me - when I was a teenager, I desperately wanted to do that. I learned it was much harder than it looks!
