Minor Progress

It's snowing like crazy here. The weather people are predicting somewhere between 5 and 10 inches today (doesn't that just go to show you how they really do just guess on the forecast). I'm hoping the weather keeps at it so I can justify going home early. It seems like a really good day to sit on the couch with a nice fire, a cup of tea, a movie, and my knitting!

Speaking of knitting, I've been making some progress on my projects. The Chalet sock continues along - I'm almost done with the second pattern repeat and should be able to turn the heel soon. I had to do some minor ripping last night because I got a little confused as to which stitches went which direction (I say confused, but really I just wasn't paying attention - that'll get ya every time).

Clapotis has entered the straight rows section (exciting, I know)

and I dropped my first stitch last night - that dropping stitches thing still gets my heart pumping a little. It just doesn't quite seem like something I should be doing on purpose.

And finally, Butterfly. I love Butterfly, but at this rate I'm gonna be 60 before she's done. Last night I knit another 2 rounds and it took me an hour and a half. I know it isn't a race and I'm not in a hurry, but jeeze I'm slow (although there was some television watching when I had to stop knitting - those purl rows still need my undivided attention).

Soon you'll be flying along, no worries. Clappy is looking wonderful. The first dropped stitch is such a rush!

Yay for snow days! I'll keep my fingers crossed for more snow for you today. :) Hopefully you'll get some quality knitting time for Butterfly this afternoon... much more fun than work!

Your Clapotis looks great!! I really like the colors. I am also in the straight rows section and I love dropping stitches. Good luck with Butterfly!

Love the yarn for the Clapotis. Did you ever tell us what it was? I'm blanking on the name.

Now you're making me want to do Clapotis. Yours is looking wonderful! And green is for confident people. Hopefully you will get some quality Butterfly knitting time today because of the snowfall. Wish I could use that excuse but the worst we ever get are power outages.

The clapotis looks lovely. You will get your groove once you're on the straightaway with Butterfly - those purls are a bitch and take a lot of time.

Amazing how you could do the three projects in one night. I don't think I could handle more than two. =)

Ok, I am back to comment...now that I fixed my post! I love butterfly! I didn't know it was a fairisle vest! I thought it was that rowan nightie thingy...I am glad you aren't knitting that!

I think dropping the stitches on the clapotis is THE best part. Have fun!

'They' have threatened snow all week...we'll see what comes of it. You'll get faster at the checkerboard and I have a trick for you that I'll email. Once you get into the body you'll really start to fly.

Your Clapotis is looking great, I love the colors. It's a good shawl I think for hand-painted yarns. Hmmm, maybe that's what I'll use some of that hand-painted wool in my stash I can't bear to part with but not sure what i'll make from it.

You'll pick up speed at some point on Butterfly, and hey if it's wool, it'll be next winter before you can wear it anyway. You've got plenty of time.

Your clapotis is behaving so nicely............Mine is still in a "time out," having refused to cooperate twice.............

The first dropped stitch made me nervous too, but then I started looking forward to them! I love the yarn you chose for Clappy!

We are at the exact same place on our Crapotees!
