Wyoming Sky

I feel like I'm the only blogger in the world who isn't making any progress on her knitting. You all have wonderful progress pictures and finished objects that you're showing off and I have nothing. I'm a bit more than half way through the 4th stripe on Ombre - 6 1/2 more to go and not enough time to get it done. I haven't worked on Ronnie all week and the Thrum Mittens are mocking me from their basket. Christmas knitting isn't looking good at all. Ah, the reality of deadline knitting. Ain't it grand?

So, in an attempt to distract myself and give you something to look at, I give you this:

This is a picture of the western horizon this morning from the end of my driveway. The mountains have been cloudy all week, so I thought this view was especially pretty.

I have big plans for pictures this weekend and will have a follow-up on the Gryffindor Socks - they're getting wrapped up and sent off to their new home. We'll see if the recipient likes them. Have a great weekend.

Oh my goodness tha tpicture is amazing! Can I live at the end of your driveway? This is exactly why I've given up on deadline knitting, it just makes me feel awful. Well I'll hope for some super severe snowstorms, that snow you in and you can't leave the house to go to work, and provide you with extra knitting time. Well it's the thought that counts right.

beautiful scenery! you live in a very scenic place. i love it.

Wow!!! The view is amazing!!! You live in a very beautiful place. Don't be too hard on yourself about your progress -- the Ombre blanket is a huge project! Take care and have a great relaxing weekend.

Wow, what a view from your driveway! The pink sky is gorgeous.

It sounds like you are almost halfway through the ombre blanket. A blanket is a huge project, but you can do it! In the latest Yarn Harlot book, there's a chapter about her travails knitting a blanket on a deadline - have you read it?

I've found the only time I don't enjoy knitting is when there's a deadline. Luckily there's still over a month, enough time to pretend there's not a deadline, but you can never *really* forget that Christmas is looming... so good luck!!

The picture is breathtaking. I've driven the length of Wyoming twice (N to S once, and W to E once) and I will never cease to be amazed at how beautiful and untouched the land appears to be.

The photo is beautiful. We are fortunate to live in the West with fabulous vistas and views all around.

Ugh, lucky you!! I've just been looking at some georgia o'keeffe paintings and a couple of them looked very similar to this...
Oh, and I really admire your cool banner up there! How did you do it?

Awesome sky! I'd imagine a blanket is one thing its very hard to feel like you're making any progress on. You will get it done, you will get it done! I'll continue to chant that for you.

I'm totally with you on the never-ending blanket thing... I am never again making a knit blanket! It takes forever, and you don't really see progress from day to day. I'm sure the end result will be beautiful though.

What a pretty view you have! I'm so envious! I bet you can see stars at night too... sigh. I hope someday I can live somewhere rural again.

Beautiful picture! Don't worry, I haven't had any finished objects in a while either. For some reason, I don't think socks count. But at least you haven't been frogging! Have a good weekend! =)

I'm here! I'm not making ANY progress. I'm posting pictures of sick cats so you aren't nearly as pathetic. Besides, you have pretty sky!

Posted by: Purly Whites at November 18, 2005 12:53 PM

Woowoowoow! What a view! Still no progress at my place...I keep having to rip back. At least you have that to wake up to in the morning!

Posted by: Leanne at November 18, 2005 1:42 PM

Please don't feel that way! Today is the three-week mark of the last time I knit. How pathetic is that? I have been too inundated with work to even pick up the needles. I have not even finished my Socktoberfest socks! bad.

I love the mountain view! When I lived out west (in WY and NM) I really took those views for granted--I was a kid... but now, I miss them so. Not that there are not pretty things in the East... I just miss the West!

Take care, Steph. Have a good weekend, and don't stress about holiday knits.

I LOVE that picture!!! And don't worry about making progress with your knitting, it seems like I am not making progress either. But I bet that both of us will finish up a few projects at once.

Posted by: Mia at November 18, 2005 2:07 PM

make that the only blogger plus me!! i have made no progress at all this week to the point that i have no idea what i am going to post about.

and my driveway photo is not nearly so gorgous!!

The only reason I finished half the projects is because they get mailed overseas. That is my deadline. Otherwise, I still have the other half to complete.

Where can I find out about the Gryffindor socks?

Beautiful photo. I could stare at it for hours.

As to the FOs, ummmm, you obviously aren't looking at my blog, because they have been few and far lately.

Posted by: Colleen at November 19, 2005 7:19 AM

hey, you can post pictures like this anytime. who needs knitting when you have these kinds of views?

Posted by: gray la gran at November 19, 2005 7:44 PM

I'm moving very slow on my knitting as well and I haven't even started any gifts. I love your views! It looks like a nice time to sit under the blanket while you are knitting and stay nice and warm.
