A Change
I had Friday off of work - being a government employee does have some benefits - namely those federal holidays! So, as you might imagine, this left a full day of knitting. Imagine the progress on Ombre. I imagined it all week and then Friday rolled around. Did I knit? Why no. What did I do? I sewed. This:
The bag is the In-Town Bag from Amy Butler. It's a bit smaller than I would like (although I am a big fan of a small purse), but I'm going to use it for awhile and see how it goes. I was using quite possibly the perfect purse, so this one has a tough hill to climb. We shall see how it stacks up.
I did knit a lot on Ombre on Saturday and Sunday. My goal was to take a picture when I finished the third color, but I didn't finish until 5:00 last night, which made good pictures impossible. So, you'll just have to trust me when I say I'm making progress. I also shoveled out my office/soon-to-be craft room and organized the closet. My knitting now has it's very own storage space. That makes me very happy (and I think Travis is relieved that there isn't yarn all over the house...yet).
Have a great week.

OH what a cute purse! I love it. I need to find a good place outside to take pictures without getting my knitting filthy, I know I could get some better color representations that way. Of course now with it getting dark by the time I'm home from work that leaves little time for pictures outside anyway, mostly before work, which there's never enough time for.
Can't wait to see Ombre.

Love the bag! I may have to cut myself off from your blog completely for the next few months if you keep posting such cute projects. You have no idea how much that makes me want to sew something right now. Must resist the temptation... :)

What a snazzy purse! The colors are great. Glad that your Ombre Blanket is going well. I also miss the days when we could actually take knitting photos after 5:00pm!

Super cute bag! The fabric you chose is great. And its going to be so cool to have your own craft room. Just being organized like that can have a real positive impact on projects :-)

oh i love your bag... so cute and functional!! did you do anything to make the fabric stiff so it is not flimsy?

Your bag is so chic. Love the contrasting lining against that classic black and white print.

Cute bag! I've been meaning to get a couple of her patterns too. I'll have to put this one on my list as well. Do you still use the Nappy bag? That's the first one I want to make.

Love that purse! I'm not good on the sewing machine. I saw the book that your Ombre afghan is in today at the book store. It is very nice! I was going to buy the book but I did resist temptation when I imagined all the other books and magazine patterns I will probably never get to that are already on my shelf.

Steph, that is just lovely! I really need to pull out that sewing machine...

We'll see how long it takes your yarn to break free from its storage spot and roam free throughout your house again.
