The First Half

The first half of the Backyard Leaves scarf for SYNO is finished and I've cast on for the second half.

The pattern is so pretty, look at those little leaves. I understand blocking it flattens them out somewhat, but I think I'll still love them.

And the end - the end is simply brilliant - it's divided into 2 parts and each one is its own leaf.

I've decided that aside from swatching for Frieda I'm going to finish this project before I start on another. I really have too many things going on to start another - Ronnie is still hanging out and I have that blanket to start. So, really, starting Frieda while I'm still working on Backyard Leaves might just fry my little brain. I am hopeful that I can get the scarf finished by this weekend, but really I need to learn to be flexible on such things.

Have a great day.

Ahh flexibility, can that really be learned? So when you've knit the two halves, how do you join them? I really like this pattern myself, I may have to do something similar, it's quite pretty. But the last thing I need to do is buy another book, but with a little of experimentation and my stitch libraries, I bet I can come up with something similar.

I’ve decided to hold off on Freida as well. Having 5 projects on the needles is now really bothering me – it’s just too much.
Gosh, I want to knit Backyard Leaves someday! It’s so pretty!

looking lovely, as your work always does. I hear you about too many projects...I've still not cast on a shawl yet.

This looks fabulous! How are you liking knitting with the yarn?

It's a brilliant design, and yours is coming out gorgeous! My leaves flattened intially with blocking, but then reformed after a bit of wear - go figure!

That is so pretty. I know how you feel. I want to start about 3 things right now on top of the few I've got going. I'll be overwhelmed. Relax and enjoy the pretty things you've got going! There's time . . . maybe I should be talking to myself!

Halfway there! Here's hoping the second half goes super speedy. There's something very refreshing about clearing out those WIPs..keep going!

Oh wow! That scarf is really beautiful! I hope they keep some of their poofiness even after blocking.

That's gotta be one of my favorite patterns out of that whole book! It looks great! You'll be done before you know it.
