I Love Packages!

All packages, even if I had to pay for them my very own self. There's just something about a box waiting for me that makes me slightly giddy.

And there was a padded envelope from Dani in the mail box too! Look what was inside:

Yes, ladies and gents, that is handpainted Harry Potter sock yarn! Gryffindor colors, of course. It is oh so pretty and yummy in person. If you haven't ordered some sock yarn from Dani - go do it right now! It's great stuff. Even Riley was excited.

Back to the boxes. The first box was from Road Runner Sports and included some running goodies. I realize running stuff is no where close to as exciting as yarn, but I figure if I have to run I might as well be comfortable. Right? (Darn, I'm good at this justification thing). So anyway, the running box had new shorts, a sports bra, and a watch.

The sports bra is supposed to be designed for the busty amongst us, and I have to tell you, I test drove it last night and it works pretty well (I know, more info than you really wanted, but what can I say, I'm a sharer). The shorts were just because I wanted some comfy shorts and the watch because my old watch was on it's last leg (and it was really hard to read the numbers through the paint splatters).

The second box? The second box was from Knit Happens and was full of the best yarn you've ever seen (or felt for that matter).

Look at that will you. A box full of Alpaca Silk. If that isn't heaven, I don't know what is. Look at the pretty color - Burgundy.

Riley was very impressed. In fact, he thought it might be a new toy.

He was very disappointed to discover it was "just" yarn and not a squeaker in sight. The alpaca silk is destined to be Frieda and I really want to cast on right now, but I'm exercising restraint. Are you shocked, because I kind of am. I'm very close to finishing the back of Ronnie and I need to see if Backyard Leaves is ready to behave. So, maybe I'll be able to start on Frieda by next week some time.

That's about it for me. I can't believe it's already Thursday - I do so love these short work weeks! Have a great day and happy knitting.

What great packages! Packages are always fun, even if they aren't all knitting related! The color of the Alpaca Silk is beautiful.

Oooh - the yarn is so pretty. Now I'm wondering if I should make a burgundy Frieda instead of pink... I'll have to see when I go to buy my yarn this weekend. Hopefully I'll get to cast on this weekend sometime.

Nice running gear! Hopefully that will help keep you motivated to run. :)

So I need more information on the good sports bra for um the bustier, I have an awful time finding a good sports bra.

Love the yarn, of course yarn is always a good thing no matter what it looks like. The Harry Potter sock yarn is very cute, I like the contrast of the colors.

Riley, you are too cute, I'm glad you obliged for a picture, and even 2! Wish I could scratch you behind your ears.

RRSports! I have those shorts and the bra! The shorts are super comfy and the bra works well too. My only gripe about the bra, which is more asthetic than functional, is that it's not "Y" back.

Frieda in that color will be gorgeous!

Wow, I love the color of that alpaca silk! Beautiful and oh-so-soft. Your doggie wants to be in all the pictures, doesn't he? :)

woohoo, nice new stuff! I have those running shorts, and soon will have that watch (Nike Imara Run?). My current watch does not even do laps!

Enjoy the alpaca silk!

Another knitter who runs! There are more of us than I thought.

Could I ask who made the bra (Or was it a house brand from RRS?) Like you, I need something with gooooooood support, and am not having the best of luck finding things that work. Thanks!

Talk about goodies! I love that Gryffindor yarn--and that Alpaca Silk is a lovely color too! It will make a lovely Freida.

Riley is too cute--give him a little head scratch for me ;)

That Gryffindor yarn is so great - I can't wait to see the socks! And Oooooo.... I loves me that Alpaca Silk. Couldn't you just keep that with you and pet it all day?? That burgundy is gorgeous and I definitely agree with everyone else - will make a beautiful Frieda.

I love packages too. Riley is adorable, I have a corgi dog and a corgi puppy. They go runnning with us. Does Riley run with you too?

Damn, what a fine mail day.

Frieda will be beautiful - must practice restraint before beginning new project - or not. I have a great running bra and it makes a difference in my comfort in running. I know this because I have a crummy one that I wear when I haven't washed the great one and it annoys me. I should break down and buy a couple more but I'd rather buy yarn.

i just started getting heart palpitations looking at that gorgeous debbie bliss yarn

I'm jealous of the Harry Potter sock yarn! I plan on getting some eventually, as even though I'm not a die hard fan, Harry Potter socks just kick ass :) Frieda looks like it's going to be a gorgeous fall knit.
