An Error On My Part
In my excitement about the zipper installation and my swatch for Frieda, I forgot to post the pattern information for the Zip Cardi. If you're like me, you're tired of looking at and hearing about this project, but in the interest of completeness, I decided I needed to post the specs.

Pattern: Zip Cardigan from Phildar Spring 2005 Magazine
Yarn: Phildar Licorne in Persan (122)
Needles: US 2 and 3 Addi Turbos
Modifications: The pattern is designed to be knit in reverse stockinette stitch, but I chose to make in plain stockinette, which I'm much happier with.
Thoughts: This pattern took me forever and involved lots of learning on my part. In the beginning, I struggled with gauge and needles. I had issues with even, consistent tension. I switched yarn early on and decided against reverse stockinette stitch. Seaming took forever! The zipper was problematic, but was a great learning experience. I'm glad I made this sweater and I'm glad I now know much more than I did when I started. I'm happy with the fit and the finished sweater. So, I guess it's a win.
Comments
I'm going to have to start doing this, of course it seems like I go in waves of finishing but that mostly I just start projects. But I enjoy seeing everyone's data. It's good reference if someone is thinking abou tknitting the project themselves.

Yeah, you got the zipper in! Good job. I think I'm going to follow suit and sew the zipper in by machine - or at least someone else will! ;0) How does the overall look on the machine seamed zipper look compared to the hand one?
Good luck with Freida. :) Mines all done. So haven't shared it yet.

This sweater is on my "tentative" list of things I'd like to knit, so it is good to hear all your thoughts on it.
And it still fits you fabulously!

Heck yeah you win! That which doesn't kill us makes us stronger and more knowledgeable in our knitting skills! It looks great!

Thanks for posting the info. I like to see the knitting logistics. Size 2 and 3 needles? I have yet to use them for a sweater. Sometimes the learning process is long but the final product is worth it. You did a great job!
