Fall Knitting
I'm attempting to make a list of the things I want/need to knit this fall (and considering the length of the list, this winter). A few are for Christmas gifts, one for the scarf swap and the others are for me! Me. Me. Me!
1. Backyard Leaves from Scarf Style for Blossom as part of SYNO
2. Frieda in burgundy Alpaca Silk
3. Rogue in Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed - maybe Twig
4. Rebecca Sweater with Embroidered Yoke and how cool is it that the pattern is free!
5. Ronnie in Jo Sharp Soho Summer DK Cotton in Carmen for a Christmas gift - I actually have about half of the back done.
6. Ombre Alpaca Blanket from Last Minute Knitted Gifts for a Christmas gift
7. Rib and Cable Socks from Interweave Knits Fall magazine in Mountain Colors Bearfoot - color Moose Creek
8. And finally, because I've completely lost my mind: Butterfly by Jade Starmore. Now, I'm going to ask my sister for this kit for my birthday and I ordered the Philospher's Wool DVD on 2 handed fair isle. I'm guessing it will be more of a winter project than a fall project, but after seeing Diana and Felicia's fair isle, I really want to try it. And it's so pretty! Does anyone have any experience with this particular pattern or have any general thoughts on Jade Starmore patterns? I'd appreciate whatever you have to say.
Have a great day, and feel free to comment on the state of my mental health!

You sure do have a lot of projects in mind! It is so hard to decide though which one to start first! I love my Rogue that I made with the JS silkroad Aran tweed. It is so soft. You will love it also! :-)

That's some list! You have a good mix of projects in there...socks, complicated knitting, straightforward knitting. Good luck with it!

Your beginning to sound as bad as me! I just added another project to my list, I picked out the yarn to use my gift certificate from my husband, Rowan Cashsoft, in a beautiful deep red, to make an Elsebeth Lavold pattern. I'm in love!

I know exactly where you are coming from. I too am interested in learning fair isle...I'll be watching your progress.

Wow - that Rebecca pattern is free??!!?? How did you find that? That totally rocks! :) Now... to find yarn for that sweater... what are you going to use? (if you've thought that far ahead yet - looks like quite a list!)

Hi Stephanie! I can't wait to watch all of these lovely knits come together. I have so many on my plate too--but I really do want to learn fair isle too. It looks so stunning! What a way to start too with that lovely Butterfly pattern!
Take care~

Wow, that's quite a list! But you knit fast so I'm sure you will get through it all by the end of winter. Thanks for posting the link to the Rebecca pattern! I didn't even know it was free.

Yeah! That Rebecca sweater looks great (and FREE, sort of if you don't count buying more yarn!!!)! I've been eager for the Fall issue since seeing that preview image on their site since Spring. Jade's Butterfly looks awesome! Give it a go! She apprenticed under her mum, Alice, and I've only heard good things about their patterns -- no errors, great instructions. Sounds good to me!

Your fall knitting list would take me all year. :-) Nice mix of stuff, though, very enjoyable.
You will like fair isle. I've borrowed the PW DVD from a friend and my advice is to watch the video clips on their website. Unless they've updated their video, what's mostly on it are the clips on 2-handed fair isle (exactly the same as on their web site) and a lot of shots of their sweaters.
