The Goal
I worked on the LBS last night and am happy to report that I've completed the second set of lotus blossoms. This puts me at the beginning of the last chart - 22 rows to go (and the bobble bind off, let's not forget that).
I do believe, if everything continues to go well, that I will have this puppy finished in time for the wedding.
I've also been working on the sherbet socks on the commute and have turned the heel on the first sock - short rows. They're really fun and are a nice break from the lace.
Last but not least, I decided to join the Stitch Ya Neck Out knitalong/swap. I got in just under the wire - very nice ladies running this deal. I'm such a procrastinater - I really need to work on that. Anyway, I think I'm going to have the turtleneck shrug made for me - I'm into shrugs right now. So, this weekend I'll have to find some fabulous yarn to send off to my pal - maybe when I order it I can have it mailed directly, since it's guaranteed I'll have to order it - nothing around here fabulous enough for such a fun thing.
I have this afternoon off from work - Cheyenne Day. A day during Cheyenne Frontier Days that pretty much everyone gets all or part of the day off in order to take in the festivities. I consider it bonus knitting time! Have a great day.

As I told Margene, we don't have Pioneer or Frontier days here in the east. I think that's because the pioneers were all FROM here, so we didn't have any left! Great shawl, by the way. I've resisted so far, but if I get one more baby sweater/Christmas present under my belt..look out!

Woo-hoo for Frontier Days and pancake breakfasts! DH and I married during Frontier Days. (Why pay for a reception when there's a free party every night?) We got free rides at the carnival that night.

The shawl is looking stellar! I can't believe you are almost done already. From reading about it, it seems to have gone very fast!

I'm so happy to hear that you've joined SYNO! With so many bloggers I've known for a while participating (you, Diana, Purly), and my refusal to knit Ruffles, and all your wishes for a non-Ruffles shrug, I think I might be knitting for one of you!

The shawl is looking fabulous! Well I took the plunge I ordered roving today, and I got another spindle. Lizzy B. told me about the wonderful service at Kendig Cottage. I almost ordered 2 spindles, but I thought, no, one will do since I already have one.
Have a great day off!

I LOVE your LBS. All those lacey stitches look oh so beautiful.
And I LOVE those socks you're doing! Those colors are so bright and fun, and so perfect for socks. I love a pair of wild and crazy socks. (I do own a pair of squeeking frogs socks - for home use only).

The shawl looks fabulous! Love the socks...I am really interested in the SYNO but I just don't think I have the time. Hopefully they will do a SYNO #2!
