I Really Shouldn't Be Surprised
I started seaming the Zip Cardi last night and guess what, it didn't really go all that well. You start by sewing the ribbed armhole insertions onto the back armholes and it's tough to get those little straight pieces of ribbing to curve and fit nicely. I'm not really happy with how they look, so I'm going to take out the seam and re-do it tonight. Oh goodie.
See how it's puckering? That's obviously where I was fudging the seam to get everything to fit, and it didn't work - too much fudging. I really don't want to re-do these, but it'd be worse to know that they weren't right! So, keep your fingers crossed that the second attempt is better.
I watched the grand finale of Dancing With The Stars while I was seaming and Kelly Monaco from General Hospital won. I just think she's the cutest thing and I can't help but root for the underdog!
Tomorrow is dress shopping with my Mother-In-Law for a mother-of-the-groom dress for my brother-in-law's wedding in August. It ought to be fun, and you know I'll find somethings I won't be able to resist. I have no willpower, but what can ya do?
Have a great day and thanks for coming by.

The one looks better then the other, but this is why I hate seaming, I'm really horrible at it, mine would be much more full of puckers. I think your smart to take it out and redo it, because if your not happy with it you'll never wear it.
Have fun dress shopping.

Good luck with re-seaming! It's interesting to see how all the pieces of this sweater come together.. Maybe easing in the ribbing evenly over the armhole would help?

oh, i feel your pain! my first sweater had the worse seaming in the world! it looks like your problem can be easily fix since you did so well on the other side. i usually had to make several attempts to get it right!!

Oh, I see what you mean... on the one hand, it may smooth out after you attach the sleeves, but if it were me, I would frog and redo, it's true. Good luck with that, so many little pieces!
And I caught the last 10 minutes of Dancing with the Stars (a show that generally upsets me as a former ballroom dancer), and I thought the other couple should have won based on performance, although Kelly is super cute when it comes to expression and personality.

Bummer about the puckering! Good decision to re-do. I hope it goes well.

I have no idea how to seam well, so I can't help you out! Better to take it out, then be mad later :) I can't wait to see it finished!

The seaming looks great on the other side. I agree with the others though, you should do the one side over or else you'll never be happy with it!
