Welcome To My New Home
As you can see, there were changes made over the weekend. The marvelously talented Diana did the design for me. It's a big change from Paint & Purl, but I really like it. What do you all think?

In other news, I was busy knitting and doing home improvement stuff. I am happy to report that I have completed the knitting on the Zip Cardi and now I need to block it and sew the many pieces together. That should keep me busy for awhile!
This morning I started one of the gauge swatches for the Lotus Blossom Shawl and it's kind of fun.
I think this will be a fun project, but I really need to get some different needles because these addis are driving me crazy!
In home improvement news I made a peach pie (is that home improvement?) and painted my light fixtures.
The pie turned out rather well and it was my first experience with one without a pan. I like the free-form aspect of it and may have to try this recipe again.
The light fixtures started their lives as brass, which isn't really my style. So, I painted them.
I started with a flat black spray paint and then used 2 copper paints and wet sponges to make them coppery. I don't know if I love them, but I like them a lot better than the brass, and they were a heck of a lot cheaper than new fixtures. These will get new shades in the next couple of weeks, so I'll post more pictures when that happens.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Hi Stephanie,
The new site looks *great*! I love the colors and the image at the top is perfect for you! YAY!! =) Diana did a wonderful job. Congratulations on finishing the Zip Cardi! I'm looking forward to seeing it all sewn up. The Lotus Blossom swatch is beautiful so far. I can imagine that the Addis are driving you crazy, though. I wish Addis were pointier.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Love the new blog look! It suits you really well I think. And it was sure fast! :) Wow - there are a lot of pieces in the ribby cardi... you'll have them all sewn up in no time, I'm sure. Your pie looks *so* yummy, it's making me hungry! The light fixtures turned out great - what a good idea to paint the brass fixtures to make them look coppery. Have a great day!

I like the new blog, very nice on the eyes, and love the top header.
My only complaint is it now put you even further down on my Favorites List on my bookmarks on my computer.
The pie looks scrumptions as does Zip Cardi. Hope you find some needles soon for your shawl.

Hi Stephanie! I love your new site! How nice of Diana to help you out with it! That apple something looks mighty delicious too I might add :)
Oh, and you have to try magic loop... It took about a half an hour to get really used to, but once I really started in on the sock, I knew that this was super easy and super fast! (I really didn't like it at first, so you gotta give it a bit of a chance)!

I wish you many happy entries in your new blog home :-) It was a really fun project for me and I am glad you like it.
The Zip Cardi has so many pieces! This should mean it will be nice and tailored, right? I am looking forward to seeing it together!

Steph, the new blog is awesome. My question is how long will you stay content with this one? Are you going to share the pie recipe or just tease us with the picture?

Love the new look! I can't believe how quickly you did it. I may have to pick your brain on it!

Love the new site design! The cool colors, curly font that is reminiscent of yarn for the logo, and the calm stretch of the fence all just whisper "unwind." High-five!
What is it about the Addis that are driving you crazy on your shawl -- are they too slippery for lace work? Just curious. I've only got Addis in one size (so far) and love them, but they are slick devils.
Also -- congrats on the light fixture makeovers. I'm currently in the process of a seemingly never-ending paint job in my younger daughter's room and enjoy seeing someone finish something like this. I like how your efforts turned out, too.
