What's In A Name?
I have very little to report today. Karate class last night kept me from making much progress on sock #1. However, I have high hopes that I will get it finished tonight.
I heard on the radio today that it is "know what your name means day." I have no idea if that's actually correct, but I was curious enough to look it up - let me tell you - nothing profound. Anyway, here's what I found: Stephanie is the feminine form of Stephen (not surprising) which is from the Greek name Stephanos which means "crown". Saint Stephen was an early Christian martyr who was stoned to death, as told in Acts in the New Testament. Another Saint Stephen is the patron saint of Hungary, the first Christian king of that country (10th century). As well, this was the name of kings of England, Serbia, and Poland and ten popes. More recently it is borne by the British physicist Stephen Hawking and the American author Stephen King. You can look your name up at Behind the Name.
On to more riveting news... Bobbie Brown stick foundation rocks. I am in love with this product. The greatest thing ever invented in my opinion. You just smear it on your face and blend, but there's no liquid to mess with, or in my case spill or have run all over my fingers, and as far as I can tell it lasts really well (all day and still some left after a particularly grueling karate class).
Have a good Wednesday and enjoy great tv tonight - LOST and Alias!
